Gambling self-exclusion in Switzerland

You may request voluntary exclusion from a Swiss casino at any time. It is not limited to one venue or one channel.

Sources checked 4 October 2026

Immediate action

Contact the social-protection service of a Swiss casino. The FGB states that a voluntary request can be made in person or in writing with a copy of valid identification.

What exclusion covers

It applies throughout Switzerland and, since 7 January 2025, Liechtenstein. It covers authorised land-based and online casinos and large-scale games operated online. Partial exclusion is not available.

Duration and lifting

Exclusion is generally not time-limited. Voluntary exclusion may be lifted no earlier than three months after registration, on application to the responsible casino. The FGB does not manage the register and cannot lift an exclusion. Confirm the exact procedure with the casino.

For someone close to you

A concerned relative may contact the social-protection service of any casino or a specialist service. The casino assesses the legal conditions; a report does not guarantee a particular decision.
